Hi, ive removed my sata hdd from my laptop and installed it to my desktop. then i transfered gamefiles to it. When i installed it back on my laptop the drive showed the files. It instanlty disapeared when i clicked the file. i thought it was some write issue, so i reinstalled it to my desktop again. but they were no files in the drive but the space was occupied. but there were no files.why is this happening? am i did something wrong? is there a way to fix this? ( btw when i reinstalled it back to the lap the drive was showing free space in the lap but in the desktop the space was occupied)

"Still much better way of transferring data would be through ethernet cable".

Yes, networking is one way certainly, or using a high-capacity pen drive or portable HDD is another (and it's easier/simpler than networking if you haven't got home networking already set up).

Either method would have been better than removing the laptop's internal drive to get the job done.

iam not moving drive's. i was moving a 68GB file from the desktop to the laptop through sata. Right now its showing no files in the disk but when i check the storage it shows 68GB occupied. so i simply formated the drive and it's solved, i think.
i've tried ethernet before but i couldn't done it in the correct way. i missed something and it did not work. so i havn't tried it yet since the last time. i don't mind how fast the data is transferred but i just want to transfer them easily. if you know how to do the ethernet method simply please do tell. :)

i don't have any sort of high capacity drives. that's why i tried this method. i use this method transfer files between two 3.5" desktop drives and it works. but this is the first time i used the 2.5" laptop hard drive. thank you :)
