PWM Fan Control

Hey guys,

Yesterday, I upgraded from an MSI Z170A Krait Gaming motherboard to my current Gigabyte Aorus Z270X Gaming K5.

With my old MSI board, I could control the speed of my case fans (plugged into my NZXT H440's PWM fan hub) via the 'MSI Command Centre' app.

However, with my new Gigabyte board, I can no longer seem to do this. None of the 'Smart Fan' settings in the BIOS change anything and the 'Gigabyte SIV' app also has no effect.

I've tried plugging the Fan hub into the 4-pin 'CPU OPT' header and a 4-pin 'SYS FAN' header on the board, but it doesn't make a difference.

I've tried re-downloading MSI Command Centre, but it wont work without an MSI board. I've also tried downloading the program 'Speedfan', but that doesn't even pick up what chipset Im using let alone any fan information.

Any help available? Would be much appreciated!

TL;DR - Can't control H440 PWM fan hub with new Auros Z270X Gaming K5, but could with my old MSI Z170A Krait Gaming.

Figured it out - apparently if it was set to a percentage that would result in an RPM out of my case fans range, it would simply revert to 100% RPM.

So I had to to change the fan curves to stay in between the minimum and maximum RPM range of my fans in order for it to work.

I still can't set a manual fixed RPM%, which is annoying, but at least I can change them now.
