Lost files in Locked file (external hard drive)

Hi,

I created a locked file on my external hard drive in which has all my family pics and vids.

I used this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMdnrd0nFkA

Now, when I enter my password, the locked file is empty!

All my pics and vids are missing.

However, if I go into the hard drive properties, it still shows that things are saved on the hard drive, eg (20gb used, 80gb free)

What shall I do? Please help.

From what I can tell, that script just creates a folder then sets it as hidden or unhidden as you run the script. Nothing fancy there really. If you put files in that hidden folder they should all be there. The catch is that you did this on an external drive, the script uses a control panel code to create that folder, it may act funny if used on an external drive. Did you unlocking the folder and then doing a search for your file names and see if they are found that way?

Hi,

I've unlocked the folder and searched for some files and nothing is coming up. Anything else I can do?

Did you happen to have the files in that folder before you ran the script? Maybe you have another location you have the files in or did you move them all into that folder? From what I can tell from that script it just creates a folder then makes it hidden to the system, nothing special is done to it. You can try running a file recovery program like Recuva and see if it picks something up.

FIXED.

Was simple solution in the end. I copied and pasted the locked file. My pics and vids were then visible in the copied folder.

Thanks for your help :)
