Looking for Mushkin Power Supply Cables or alternatives

(For some reason I had to switch to Edge because Chrome was not working)

I got a Mushkin 800w PSU last night from a buddy of mine, and it only had 1 modular cable with it.

Can anyone recommend alternative cables?

I have a modular PSU in my PC right now that look like the cables would fit but I don't want to blow up things! Any suggestions or advice on this would be fantastic!

Thanks!

Well if thats the case yes it sounds entirely possible that your drive was damaged by the PSU especially that your PSU is a low end model. There are other things, like it could be an inherent flaw in the drive brand/model. OCZ had an issue like that a few years ago. Could even be the motherboard doing it.

Unfortunately the only cables that will work properly with that PSU are the ones that came with it. You'd need to contact Mushkin to purchase new ones. That said they have been out of the PSU game for a really long time so you may have a hard time getting those parts. In addition, the PSU is likely really old and probably worn down as well. I would reconsider even using it, theres definitely no way its putting out 800w anymore.

What would make you say that? SSDs use very little power I would be surprised if thats the case.

Whats your full system specs including the brand and model of PSU?

Why do you think your PSU is causing problems with your SSD?

As an aside your PSU is low end and should be replaced anyway. But you don't need 800w (a good 550 would be fine), and that mushkin isn't a good choice.

Can you get a Corsair CX550M in your area?

I got the Mobo/PSU/Process for a really great price.

As for the SSD, it happened 3 times on this PSU and I asked around and was told the PSU could be the cause of it.

550 would be fine for what I have? Not under powered? I'm in Houston, so I can look but its getting the wife to let me spend more money that is the issue.

Yes its more than enough for what you have. People tend to way over estimate with PSUs, and if you're using crappy ones thats not necessarily a bad thing. This is a good quality one. Its fine.
