Usually the 1070s fans don't spin up until the card reaches ~60°C (varies from card to card)
The Galax' fans continue to spin no matter the temps (like it was with video cards since..ever) at I think 25% speed at idle
Thanks, that's what I assumed you were referring to. It does have passive cooling, and the permanent idle fan speed was 50%, hence the many complaints from buyers. They updated the cards, and provided bios updates to buyers of the older ones, which removed the mandatory spinning, so now they also only kick in at high temps.
If that's the only reason not to get a cheaper Galax version, and that reason is now gone, then I'll definitely get one. I was more concerned with whether Galax is a trustworthy brand, and the build quality is as good as competitors?
