ok so I currently have an msi gaming m3 b150 with an i5-6600 cpu.

if I buy an i7-7700k will I get the same performance that I would get from it. compared to if I put it in a Z-board?

P.S. I know I can't oc in b150 boards I;m asking if their stock performance are the same.

I know some of you might be thinking why buy an unlock cpu if you don't want to OC? well i'm thinking of replacing my mobo down the road aswell but if theres a noticeably difference in performance even at stock speeds i'll replace the mobo as well.

thank you for whoever would help me out and please add an explanation as to why it would run the same or worse.

I flash my bios to the latest version it says improve stability with 7th gen intel chips so I guess that's good.

thank you for clearing that up for me.

You get the same BASE (and turbo as well) clock on CPU no matter what mobo you use, be it H110 or Z270 or B150 or whatever. So it is the same performance too. The only change Z mobo gives you is the ability to set CPU clock HIGHER then base, thus giving performance better then standard.
