Best GPU for ultra wide 1080 gaming

I'm looking for a GPU that can perform great on mainstream titles at 1080 ultra wide. I was looking at the Msi 1070 gaming x but it looks like it would be over kill. My current monitor is a 27" Asus ips 1080p but in the near future I plan to purchase a curved 34" 1080p. I will also have a 2nd monitor for multitasking.
I have a $450 budget

I have the MSI Gaming 1070 (I forget whether it's the X or non-X...but it's OC'd either way) and can confirm that it will be plenty of power for what you want to do. I use it for 16:9 1440p, but on occasion will implement those horizontal black bars and run it at ultrawide 1080p. You can find average FPS results for the 1070 at 1080p ultrawide, or just look at regular widescreen 1440p and expect a better framerate. As for power supply, which superninja12 brings up, I'm using a platinum rated 660w Seasonic, which is plenty. Hardware monitor rates my peak wattage for the GPU at about 200w, FYI.

That'll be a sweet display setup, I'm a little jealous.
