Hello there,
hope you doing well. I am planing on building a new PC, i never built a PC but i have been reading about it for a while. i am going to build my PC mainly for gaming and doing some coding as i plan on majoring in Computer science. i am not a hardcore gamer, i like FPS games and do not care that much about the graphics. getting +60 on 1920X1080 with high graphics enabled would be good for me. Here is what i currently have in mind:

-Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor( i am considering getting the i7-7700k )
-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
-Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
-Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
-Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
-EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0 Video Card
-EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

the reason i am considering getting the i7-7700k is because if i really enjoyed playing on PC i am going to invest more on buying a new GPU and if i did not enjoy the experience i would still have a good processor that would serve me for at least 5 years.

i appreciate all the suggestions and thank you in advance.

Solution
Hi,
I'm sorry i copied wrong link in my previous post. See below.
i did not see the PSU that you have replaced? what is wrong with the one i am having?
Well it is not bad, just that the efficiency of a 80+ Gold rated PSU is better and since I myself currently using Corsair and in the past had several from that brand and I kind of like them, but You can if you whish changed it back to the one you prefer.

Hi my friend.

Consider to exchange the Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive to Samsung 850 EVO
Not only will it be a little bit faster, but also more of a quality drive.
And replace EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
to a better one with at least silver or gold
I.e.

I can't see any harddrive in Your list?
Yes, You will need one, especially to save/store music, photos, films and everything else.

The SSD is only to have the operating system, all installed programs, games and so on.
In short everything looks very good.

$47 overbudget, but have complete build. You don't have to worry about cpu, motherboard, ram and psu.
For future ugrade, you can get samsung 960 evo (about 3x faster than above SSD) and better gpu. PSU is a tier 2 (good) 620 watt, it can handle most single gpu with no problem. This build should suffice until RX 480 is out of its usage.

Hope this help

thank you for the reply.
i noticed that the motherboard is a micro ATX? i thought that ATX are better suited for gaming builds! i am very new to PC gaming i guess i might have assumed that. can i ask why u did not chose to use 1050ti in the build?

I Don't agree.
Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - replace it to Samsung 850 EVO as i suggested.
This will not only get You a little bit faster SSD, but more importantly - a way better, solid, reliably with much higher quality drive to a very good price - considering performance/price/quality.

Memory:
Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
No.
Yo will have to go for Dual channel memory's and with two memory modules and of course from a well known memory vendor.
Best regards from Sweden

Considering replace the Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
to an Intel Z270 - Chipset is a better choice.

For ex. Asus Z270-PRIME H270-PLUS
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/PRIME-H270-PLUS/

As for memyy's
Corsair 16GB ( 2x 8GB ) CMK16GX4M2A2400C16
Dual channel memory's, which is approved by Asus for this particular mobo.

thank you very much man, i really appreciate the input you have given me. you seem to be very knowledgeable about PC parts and i will list you the parts i have so far and give me your opinion.

i have 8 RAM and whenever i think or notice that i need more i will add more. is there any way to lower the total of the build? any suggestion?

Hi,

I strongly suggest to go for 16GB (2x8GB) memory right away.
Only 8GB wouldn't do perfectly well, especially when it comes to memory hungry games such as Dice Battlefield One, Battlefield Hardline, Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal or GTA V etc.

The Windows operating system together with all the drivers, antivirus s/w etc can easily on a 64-bit system take up to 2.4GB Ram or moore.
Which leaves You to approx 5.5GB RAM left over for gaming.
If You have Skype and other gaming overlays active (for video capture etc.) and in the case of Battlefield You must have a web-browser up and running: you will probably end up with at least 3-3.3GB of RAM usage - even before any game is started.
That leaves you with approx 4 GB left, probably even less.

As a comparison: right now on my system with 16GB of ram - 7.7GB is now in use among several things, Firefox, Thunderbird and GTA V in the background as we speak here.

When it comes to memory's there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Always install memory sticks from one memory kit. They are matched together.

2. Always make sure that the chosen memory's is indeed supported by the motherboard and its processor.
Different types of memory's, different frequencies, timings etc. the memory stick with the lowest speed will always set the speed for the rest of them. And cause trouble when mixed.

Ok. I see what I can do to lower the total price, but regarding the memory´s I would replace them with perhaps these: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yRkwrH/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2a2133c13r
Now, unfortunately it went up but it will be a better choice in a long turn.

I also replaced the Power supply:
Total is now $853 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

Ok We can probably work us down from there, but a couple of questions:

1, A chassi?
2. How about a Windows 10 Home license?
3. Keybord?
4. Mouse?
5. Monitor?

Best regards from Sweden

as for windows i have a free one my university provides me with a free window and i have, already, booted it into a usb, i have a keyboard, a mouse, and a monitor as well. regarding the chassi i really don't care that much about the looks, but i will buy one that is less than 40 box.

i did not see the PSU that you have replaced? what is wrong with the one i am having?

i would like to thank you again for being very helpful.

Since you are not too demanding, i would tell you NOT TO BUY i7 or i5, its unnecessary really. If you are just fine with 1080p 60fps gaming... a simple pentium g4560 can achieve that (and more) on high settings with almost every game out there, pair it with rx 470/480 or gtx 1060 and you are GOLDEN. Buy cheaper h110, b250 mbo, screw overclocking its not worth it ;)
Later on you can put i5 7400 in that mbo if u want, G4560 costs only 60-70$, its a dual core with 4 threads, king of budget cpu-s which performs really well in all games, i think it will satisfy your needs without breaking the bank.

I agree, it is a good tip. :)
