Is having a seperate psu with 2 molex to 6 pin adapters safe? My current psu can't handle my new gpu. I have an old 400w atx power supply that dosent have any pcie cables. Can i use 2 molex to 6 pin connectors and have only my gpu connected to the old psu and everything else stays the same. Will it catch on fire? Will it fry my gpu? Is it gonna work?

No; the PSU won't start without the motherboard telling it to via the 24-pin ATX connector. There's a workaround for that, but it's a much better idea to just buy a decent PSU.

thanks. I am going to buy a new 600w psu and use that one.
