Hello,
so I bought some components for my new pc:
Asrock extreme z170, I7 7700k and CMK16GX4M4A2666C16R.

Unfortunatly my PC starts and turns off, starts and turns off..... with a black screen.

I discovered that the Bios is old: P3.20 and for my new my i7 7700k I need at least 7.00.
How can I update it? I have a black screen....

Also I saw on http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Extreme4/?cat=Memory
that my motherboards supports many corsair memories, however I cant find "CMK16GX4M4A2666C16R" on the list, does that mean my mainboard cant work together with that memory? Is that maybe the reason for my turn on, turn off, turn on, turn offproblem?

On the motherboard it shows the debug code 19.

Hope you can help me!
Kind regards

Solution
Bent pins are always bad thing. Yes, it can cause some ram slots to not work on the motherboard, but it can also cause many other problems.
How bad are they bent? Pictures would help here.

You must put SkyLake CPU in mobo to do that.

Memory will most likely work, there is no need to worry about that now. You must update BIOS first.

thank you so much! could you tell me the cheapest skylake cpu you know?

I guess Pentium G4400. It is listed under 'all' on BIOS support list for your mobo, so it is guaranteed to work no matter what version mobo has.
But of course the cheapest option would be to borrow CPU from a friend. After all, you need it for 10 mins max.

I am too unexperienced with bending a pin back by myselfe. I have no rush.I will send back that motherboard and ordner a new one. Will be at my place on friday. Will check it out then. If there is then still a problem (no bend pins) could it be the ram? the ram I use is not on the compatible list from asrock (contacted also the asrock support, they told me the same as you and did not say anything about the ram).

As for sending mobo back, it *can* be a problem. Bent pins fall under physical damage, and that is not covered by warranty. If you seller accepts it, then good, but you should be prepared that they may not replace it.
As for customer support - it is not uncommon for them (not only asrock, all manufacturers) to just reply "use ram that is listed on QVL" if you ask them questions why something not works if you have ram that is not on QVL. However, that does not mean that the RAM you got will not work. In fact, as long as your RAM is not faulty, it *should* work on this motherboard without any problems at all. QVL lists all memory modules that manufacturer tested and guarantees to work. But obviously, they cannot test ALL memory modules that are on the market, so not all memory that will work show up on this list.
