To make a long story short, my monitor(or Mobo) is not detecting my new GPU.

I recently replaced my Radeon HD 6570 with the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 gaming x twin frozr VI. Also added two gskill 4gb sticks.

I first ran the CD install that came with the 1050, and right before everything finalized I got the "NVIDIA INSTALLER CANNOT CONTINUE" I assumed this was because the card was not yet in the PCI Express port. I thought I would be able to finalize after install. So I disabled and uninstalled the Radeon drivers, powered down and installed my new card.

My first boot up I had my monitor connected to the new GPU but all the monitor would display is a text box "check signal cable". So I then shut down and rebooted with monitor plugged into the MOBO. Same issue.
The Mobo has an onboard GPU but I did not disable that yet because I'm scared if I do, I'll never be able to get back to windows to try and trouble shoot. Am I supposed to?

I can't install new drivers without the card being in the pci-e slot, but I can't get to windows while it is installed.

Please help

My build:
Cpu-AMD Phenom quad core 965 black edition
Mobo-Asus m5a88-m
Psu- Corsair cx750m

Solution
Check for an updated BIOS for your motherboard, then install the card again and see if it works. Maybe try a different connection type off the card.
