Corsair Vengeance DDR4 TIMING 3200 QUESTION

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz (PC4-25600) C16
MSI B350 Tomahawk
Ryzen 1700x

Okay so here is my question, what are my timing's supposed to be? I am so lost, I have done so much research on timing and voltage and those abbreviations and what they mean but I still feel like I am on planet mars (lost).

I took some screenshots while in the bios, it tells me what my memory speed should be (3200) and timing numbers, but it shows 4 timing numbers, not 5 like they ask when you go to adjust timing, and I can't for the life of me figure out voltages. Looks like you can have it up to 1.35v but the default is lower like 1.2 I believe.
Can anyone tell me what to try and put these settings at?

At least I figured out how to overclock the processor........

On the first page you need to set DRAM Frequency to DDR4- 3200 and yes manually set the DRAM Voltage to 1.35v if you can, although it seems you have XMP enabled which should do that automatically.

On the second page the numbers should go 16, 16, 18, 18, 36

I see you're running Ryzen which still can have problems with higher speed ram so the 2667mhz it runs at is maybe the top speed it can do right now. Maybe that after a bios update this will change.

The Vengeance LPX is one of the few rams that can do 3200 with Ryzen, but otherwise you're correct. In his case he has the timings set wrong so it will never work right.

Although it seems to have the same nr is there a new bios/uefi if i'm not mistaken from 2017-03-01,yours seems to be from 2017-2-15,might want to update,maybe this will improve compatibility.
Look in the bios for "DOCP" and enable to set ram to best settings,maybe there is a 3200mhz option there. (this might not be necessary since you have A-XMP enabled,looked over that one)

Looking at the A-XMP settings are his timings set right? Still he manages "only" the speed of 2667mhz. Still think it's maybe not for this board/cpu combo to do higher than that at the moment.

I tried those timings and it would not boot, it went into default settings and I had to go back in and lower the memory to 2667. I looked on the bios on the computer program and it said bios 1.0 was up to date, but you're right I think there is a 3-1-17 bios that is released that still says 1.0 but with a different date on it! (2017-2-15 1.0 is what is on motherboard, 2017-03-01 1.0 is what's available) So I never noticed that date, weird.

Sorry for the jumbled response, just woke up and will try what you guys recommended again with the update and timing numbers that rogue leader posted. Will respond with results

That bios is the same, reflashed it anyway and the "build date" remained 2017-2-15. On their website the "release date" says 2017-03-01 so maybe that is just when it was released to the public.

I tried switching memory back to 3200 with those timing numbers posted and it still wont boot until it reverts back to something lower. I guess patience is the key here... any other ideas? lol.

Is "DOCP" an option in the bios?

No I looked all over and could not find DOCP. However, I tried playing around and came up with the timing numbers 16, 18, 18, 18, 36 instead of 16, 16, 18, 18, 36 which Rogue Leader recommended and BOOOOM I got a lucky guess working! It started up

Final numbers:
16, 18, 18, 18, 36
Voltage 1.35
Frequency 3200

Now, for the processor, 3900 with 1.425 Voltage. Is that okay? I think so, it's running, and hasn't failed yet. I haven't tried going higher with it.

So I reset computer to take a screenshot and post it here, and it didn't boot back up in 3200, it went back to default speed haha. Seems like we are making some progress though...

I was surprised it didn't work with the settings I mentioned. The Vengeance LPX along with Gskill TridentZ have been the ones working with that.

I have Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3200 on a Crosshair VI Hero, and its not working past 2666 mhz as well. I have left it at that for now as there are upcoming BIOS updates to increase memory compatibility for all boards. The LED ram is apparently different than the LPX ram.

Anyway you may need to wait for the next BIOS update to run your ram at 3200mhz, right now Ryzen DDR4 compatibility is still a work in progress.

So I had to set mine to ez tune with a tower cooler (I have a closed loop though) and it has a stable o.c. to 3.9 ghz. I start windows up and log in, then I restart and tell it to auto at 3 ghz. I read that with two sticks you can't do the full 3200. So I believe it is at 3026 MHz on my corsair vengeance ddr4. Maybe you have fixed it since this.

As of msi 1.2 bios update I have only had 1 or 2 successful boots in 3200. 2666 always works and 2800 works most of the time not always though... timing and voltages set on auto

Did you try setting the timings manually to what is specified for the RAM? Thats the only way it works right on my ASUS.

Otherwise may need to wait for another BIOS update.

I did try that originally. I tried it again on the latest update and it would not boot. I will try it again I may not have had timing numbers correct or something. I'm not exactly sure what voltage I should be setting it at either but I've been doing the max.... at work now

There is another BIOS update coming out soon for the Crosshair VI Hero that may fix this, look for v1004, sShould be iout in the next couple weeks.
