I have a gtx 980ti for the last 14 months it has served me well but now I have a Asus 4k monitor so the gtx 980ti is struggling to cope on certain get games would a gtx 1080ti be a lot better than gtx 980ti sli
The 1080 Ti is going to be about the same performance (give or take) as SLI 980 Ti's but without the SLI hassle. Basically it comes down to your thoughts on SLI and how much you want to spend (a second 980 Ti being cheaper than a 1080 Ti).
In some cases yes in some no. It'd be less of a headache for sure and games that don't fully support sli it would be better. It's something like 55% faster than a 980ti which is on the upper end of sli scaling
