Hello everyone, so I've been having ping issues for the past few days and just recently I pinged both my router and google.com. My router seems fine, when I ping it it returns with <1ms most of the time, but when I ping google.com it fluctuates and it usually spikes up high. I have a feeling that there is a problem with my ISP however my ISP continues to tell me that there is nothing wrong. Is there something wrong on my end? Thanks.

It depends how often it happens and how high the spikes go. What would be a issue is if you see say 300ms for 4 or 5 pings in a row. A random one here or there is just normal. You could run a tracert and then ping addresses in the path. The second one is generally the first ISP router and represents the connection from your house to the ISP. That one if there are spikes maybe the ISP could fix. In general a lot of this is just load related. You can do little if there is a bottleneck in the bandwidth someplace in the ISP network.
