Hello, community!
I'm looking to replace the motherboard of my (upgraded) CybertronPC 5150 Escape Gaming PC so I can fully utilize my new SSD (Samsung 850 evo 250gb).

My current motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (socket M2) , which doesn't have SATA3 slots. I was looking at the Gigabyte GA-A75M-UD2H, which has the same dimensions as my current one, but I'm clueless when it comes to hardware so what I want to know is this: Will this motherboard work with this computer? (at the bottom of the linked reviews for each motherboard are the specifications)

I'm listing my computer specifications from Speccy below since I've updated the graphics card and installed an SSD from the stock pre-built machine.

I hope someone can help this clueless newbie out!

Solution
I would not recommend using a Gigabyte GA-A75M-UD2H. It is a discontinued Socket FM1 model from 2012. It supports obsolete socket FM1 of 32nm AMD A-series/E2-series processors.

You can use micro-ATX form factor motherboards in your case. There is only one AM3+ micro-ATX motherboard with SATA3.
ASRock 970M Pro3

The best method to uninstall and install an AMD processor and heatsink / fan (HSF):

Excellent, thank you! I'm finding this guide a little daunting to me, so I'll probably take it to a professional for installation. Glad it's fairly cheap!

What is your opinion for using something like this alternatively for my SSD to connect to my current board: StarTech.com 2 Port SATA 6 Gbps PCI Express SATA Controller Card PEXSAT32

It's a bit cheaper and easier to install, but I'm not sure if these are notorious for making SSDs fail or what (I'm not sure I trust the Amazon reviews...) I would be plugging this into another PCI slot rather than the express as my GPU covers the express slot.

Would you recommend replacing the motherboard or is this converter a viable option?

You're right; it is blocked by the GPU, but I mistakenly thought I could plug a PCIe connector into the bottom PCI slot - I must have read something wrong (or whoever I read it from phrased it wrong or was mistaken as well). I do see that you can put a PCIe x4 into the bigger PCIe slots, so that's probably where I was confused.

I will purchase the motherboard you recommended, thank you!
