I bridged my ps4 and laptop to fix ps4 connection speeds which worked great, but now every 8-20 minutes i will lose connection on my ps4 (kicking me from any multiplayer match i was currently in) and giving me a message on my laptop telling me i have a windows error becuase of ip address conflicts. ive tried some things i found online like ipconfig and messing around my router settings but nothing has worked. i just want them to stay on separate IPs if its that simple/possible

i am using addresses given to me from DHCP or whatever its called, and they both continue to change. right now the ps4 is using 192.168.0.42, and the laptop is using 192.168.0.43, however it seems to keep changing and i think when they change for a moment they use the same IP address and that causes the error. all i did to bridge them was plug an ethernet from my playstation to my laptop and then go into my network settings and click bridge connections. is there an easy fix? i dont feel like it should be doing these for a bridge

What may be happening is that some other device is being assigned or has been assigned an IP address being used by either the ps4 and/or the laptop.

Are you using static IP addresses for either the ps4 or the laptop? Specifically static IP addresses assigned by the network router and reserved for the ps4 or the laptop via their respective MAC.

The assigned static IP addresses should also be outside of the DHCP IP address range made available to the router.

Can you provide the private IP addresses being used within your network - those addresses are most likely in the 192.168.1.1 range.

And explain the "bridging" configuration that you used?

Do not provide any public IP address(es) as provided by your ISP.

Here is a link to help you distinguish between Public and Private - there are other such links:

Class (A, B, C) per se is obsolete but still used as a matter of reference in many documents.
