As above - upgrading from:

2500k to 6600k
z77 to z170A
ddr3 to ddr4
all else remains the same.

Will I need to reformat my OS SSD? or can I use my desktop immediately after I change these components?

Thanks!

There is a slight chance for things to go wrong but that's minor.
There's nothing to worry about really. Just (re)build your pc and it should work without a problem.

Nice upgrades, doing a clean install is always recommended. Also because your new hardware requires new drivers. Keeping the same data on the drive may cause multiple drivers to conflict.

OS reactivation is not an issue. i just want to be sure there's no corruption or whatsoever.

it's also super tedious to reformat and reinstall everything.. hence the question.

theres no way to be sure it wont just blue screen you

as its intel to intel you have a good chance it will work

but not a guaranteed one
