Do I need to have more system RAM then VRAM?

Hi! My question is what happens if you have lets say a GPU with 12 GB VRAM but only 8 GB system RAM? Is this a problem or are those two things completely unrelated? Thanks for the help!

It's nothing to worry about. If you somehow ran out of Vram, the OS would use some regular memory to prevent it from going out of video-memory, but that's about it. It will work just fine in an 8GB system.
