Hey Everyone,

A few years ago I built my first and only PC. Below are the specs of the build, and nothing has been changed. This computer has been awesome but I think its time for some new hardware. Until recently I could play most games on Ultra. And then BF1 came out. BF1 lags a lot even on normal settings and is almost unplayable at times. I want to upgrade just enough to play on High or Ultra without Lag. I have a baby on the way so the budget is a bit tight. 100- 150 is about as high as I can go. The lower the better. I am not opposed to buying older or used Parts. My build is 4 years old so I am sure something better has come out since then. Thank you for any help/advice on this you guys are awesome!

I'd second the 1050 Ti recommendation. It's a substantial boost over a 7850 both in GPU speed and memory. It sips power if you get one which doesn't require a 6 pin connector, which is important since you don't have a quality power supply. It will allow you to use high settings.

The next thing I'd recommend is experimenting with BF1 settings to find which one or ones tax your CPU the most. Lower those settings as much as you can tolerate in order to boost framerate. Since you are a budget gamer you know better than to think you can play the latest games on high or ultra with no lag. You have to compromise on something.

If lowering the graphical settings doesn't increase the FPS then your CPU is the issue. Overclocking it with a good aftermarket cooler may help but unfortunately you may need to save up more for a better suited upgrade or find a better performance per core CPU in a used market such as ebay. Either of these coolers would be good for overclocking that CPU.

Once you do overclock or get a better CPU and FPS increases when you lower the graphic settings then the next upgrade would be the GPU. A good price/performance buy is the RX 470 4gb.
