I have a core 2 quad q6600 2.4 which is too old. I was thinking about to buy a new gtx 1050 2gb which as I saw can perfectly fit in it as I have 300 w PSU but the real question comes here how much of performance will I get with these components and how much percent would I be getting of the performance of gtx 1050.
Regards

Solution
if you are going to run your q6600 at stock clocks then yes some games that are cpu bound you will experience small bottlenecks but not that much as the GTX 1050 is quite a slow GPU. but if you manage to oc your q6600 above 3ghz you should be fine running that GTX 1050. since the X4 860k can handle a 1050ti and the q6600 isnt that far off you should be fine. and im talking about 1080p mostly mid settings 60 fps most games. also i think you should get a decent quality 450w or 500w psu. just because that 300w psu is really pushing its limits with your power consumption. especially if you are going to oc that cpu.
Too many other factors affect this, many of which you haven't addressed. What games are we talking about? What resolution?

In general, your CPU would be considered budget level for gaming. So in CPU intensive games your framerate with a 1050 would not be as high as with a faster CPU. In games that aren't CPU intensive, you should see that 1050 perform about as well as anyone else. By the way, some Nvidia 10xx series cards might be problematic on older motherboards due to the lack of a UEFI bios. I'd contact the videocard company to make sure their card works on the older legacy bios before you spend the money.

no, actually you will have a few more watts to spare. TDP for q6600 is 105w, TDP for q9650 is 95w. and q9650 is clocked at 3ghz. and a faster chip, smaller process, good option to go for. check if your motherboard will support it.
