I have a problem where when I replaced the graphics card on a Dell Vestro with the i5 2100, the screen pops up with no signal. The original graphics card, the Nvidia 9500GT, works perfectly fine with the PC and works well. It's just when I insert my refurbished AMD Radeon 8570 the screen says no signal. The fans spin and everything. I'm a noob at this so simple terms please. I don't know the Motherboard or ram etc.

Solution

turn off computer

plug the monitor into the new card

restart it

once in windows run the driver installer

As stated above, uninstall the drivers of your Nvidia GPU, plug in your AMD card and see what happens. If it still gives no signal. Then plug your display cable into the motherboard and you should have image, from there you have to go and download AMD's drivers for your card from their website. Then install the AMD card and plug into that with your video cable. See if that resolves the issue.

And how would I uninstall the old Nvidia drivers? Device Manager>Nvidia 9500GT>Uninstall drivers?

I have uninstalled the 9500GT drivers and downloaded the EXE. for the AMD drivers. I turned off the pc and inserted the 8570 so the AMD program knows what driver to use in the Radeon software. I used the integrated GPU instead of the AMD (that's plugged in) but I get no signal. So how am I supposed to install the drivers?
