Computer won't turn on, help?

hi,

On friday, I installed new ram on my desktop computer. Played some games and all that, and then left the city for the weekend. I just came back and my computer would not turn on.
I suspected 3 possible faults.

1) Power Button Switch: I tried jump starting the computer with a screw driver between the 2 PW switch pins. Nothing.

2) Power Supply: I disconnected all the connectors the PSU is connected to and jump started the PSU via paperclip on the main motherboard connector. It started and I tested all the voltages with reference to this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac7YMUcMjbw
All of the voltages were fine.

3) Motherboard: Similar to 1) However, I don't know how to diagnose a faulty mobo except by replacing it with a good one. Last attempt to jump start it, and nothing again.

Can anyone help me with this? I assume it may be a fried mobo.. but then again, it was working on friday and I shut it down properly before leaving.

Thanks!

  1. well when my CPU died my power supply would click on then click back off right away, if this is the case its the CPU,
see if u can test with another CPU,
and for the mother board (i have no clue if this will do anything) but take the CPU out see if ur computer or powersupply turns on,

next for RAM take out all your ram and put them in one by one and see if one of the sticks are fried (with cpu in and videocard

I jump started my psu and it ran fine. Voltages were good.

There is no sign of the mobo turning on at all, I feel like the mobo is fried because all the connections and components are fine. Even if one of the components were bad, the system would show some sign of starting, but in my case there is no sign of any power at all, no clicks no nothing.
