Hi, I'm getting very poor performances since I updated my NVIDIA Graphic drivers.
(It feels like my GPU is not getting used)

Exemple: The Sims 4

Very slow launching times

Normal FPS but it freezes like every 1,5 seconds

High CPU temperatures for such a game (around the 60-70's Celsius)

Very low GPU temps (like 37-42's Celsius)

Sorry for my bad english

More about high cpu temperature low gpu temps
  1. how was your windows and games doing before you changed your GPU?
have you trued to install to your old GPU back to see if every thing go back like it was before?
  2. Very well, I was able to run pretty much any games. I even have an OCULUS RIFT and I was able to play VR games just fine with normal temperatures and no performance issues at all.
  3. have you trued to install to your old GPU back to see if every thing go back like it was before?
  4. have you tried to install to your old GPU back to see if every thing go back like it was before?
  5. I installed the GeForce Game Ready Driver (Version 378.78) then I started have those issues. I then tried reinstalling multiple times, Going back to the version 378.66,ect but its still the same. It really feels like my GPU is not being used?!
  6. is it new GPU card? or used?
  7. I didn't change the GPU card I just updated the Nvidia drivers ect, because my nvidia control panel wouldn't stop crashing. I've had this card for almost a year now.
  8. My cpu temperature is the 60C while browsing the internet, I forgot to mention I got some errors like "GPU failed to initialize" or something like that the first time I launched some games
  9. look we got here Either software problem, or hardware problem,
    let's work by logic.
first check you computer from the malware (malware fighter 4.5 it's free)or viruses if you pc were clean, then you need to go back to the factory with your windows , and watch every software you install, Especially, Nvidia update.
if you did every thing about the software and the CPU temp was hi you need to check the thermo past on you CPU ,it may need to replaced ,or your CPU base it may need to be fix ,or your cpu fan it may not work correctly and tell me about it,ok? good luck.

I'm running a Malwarebytes scan right now,
I don't know the most about hardware but it seems to be a software problem since the issues started right after I installed a driver? does it make sense?
  11. yes , it can happen
  12. you need to check about your hardware from time to time
  13. The scan is not finished yet but it already found some malwares, I'll give you an update after the scan.
  14. ok
  15. My cpu fan doesn't seems to be working properly but would that affect my GPU temps to stay very low??
  16. if got regular fan ,the one that we use on the table, open your pc case died door and let the fan work on your motherboard and check the temp
  17. take my advice and check your CPU thermal paste ,but, before you do that you need to get new thermal paste (Arctic Silver) use the gray one not the white, everybody say the gray is better than the white
  18. I have battlefield 1 open right now on full ultra and it runs very well (+80 fps for sure)

I have put a table fan on my motherboard and here are my temperatures w/ bf1 full ultra opened:

    Intel Core i7 4770 @ 3.40GHz 65 °C

    4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (Gigabyte) 59 °C

is it acceptable or will it damage something?
  19. 65 for the CUP is very hi
  20. what about the malware?
  21. Ill buy some TP and check it, will keep you updated. thanks alot
  22. try to download speedfun and try it
  23. ok check the fun and the thermal
  24. the thermal should be very sticky not dry, inform about what will happen, good luck
  25. I opened speedfan http://imgur.com/a/rzLpO what exactly am i supposed to do?
  26. speedfun is name of software you need to download it ,it's free ,and install it
  27. I did, http://imgur.com/a/rzLpO but am iI supposed to do something in it? or just see my fan speeds?
  28. it will show you the temp of every core in your CPU
  29. I saw your pic ,the temp is hi,it's not a software problem ,its hardware man
  30. can you sent me you CPU heat-sink pic?
  31. my fans are running in the 700-900 rpm it says, isn't that low?

and is that what you want?
    http://imgur.com/a/0vlmF
  32. yeap, that's good kind of heat sink ,please do me a favor, and check the fan does it pulls the air and pushes it to the heat sink ,or, it's pulls the air from the heat sink and pushes it out side
  33. its pushing the air into the heat sink
  34. have made overclock on your bios to get more CPU speed?
  35. no I did not
  36. ok man , the temp doesn't go high without reason you need to check the system of the CPU , heat sink base and the thermal paste ,I'm sure you will find something check it and infor me,sorry but, it's now 3 am and I have to go to sleep we will talk Tomorrow, bye for now
  37. ok np thank you for your time
