Recently found a battered old MacBook Air in the Ewaste pile. The only salvageable part was the PCI SSD. I understand that there are USB cases for this card however I wish to find a SATA adapter so I can use it to replace the Failing HDD in my old 08 Linux web surfing Imac. The SSD i have looks like the top one in THIS picture.

Basically does anyone know of a usable SATA enclosure for this drive?

Thank you
Nathan

So first off the JPV is a pretty recent drive and can be used from I beleive 2013 macbook pro's all the way to 2015. It also work on other models, AIR, MacMini and even MacPro (but with heatsink).

That said I'm pretty sure these are PCIE only (but not 100% sure). I'm pretty sure they make adapters to make these for standard PCIE and m.2 but have my doubts on Sata being supported.

The JPV would be a waste on sata anyways. Depending on which capacity you have they can do read speeds of around 3000MB/s and I think 2000MB/s writes.

What I'm trying to say is you probably wanna get the PCIE adapter and use it in a PC.

Believe this is what you'd need for PCIE...

Think you can find an adapter on ebay but really you're better off selling it and buying a sata ssd. They sell well.

You'd probably have to go Mac>m.2>sata... not worth the trouble IMO.

Is it a mz-jpu? or mz-jpv?
