My current build plan:

CPU: i7-7700k
CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i v2
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Or Asus Strix Z270E
RAM: Trident Z RGB 2x8gb 3200mhz
GPU: GTX 1080 ti FE or Asus Strix 1080 ti oc (If it gets released sometime soon)
Case: Corsair 570x Crystal
PSU: Corsair RM1000x (Planning to possibly upgrade to SLI in future)
SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 250gb m.2
SSHD: Seagate Firecuda 2tb

This is my current build plan and will be my first ever build by myself. Im planning to overclock the 7700k to 5ghz or around that and am wondering which board will be the best for Overclocking. The Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero is $100 more and wouldn't mind sticking to the Strix Z270 if there wont be much of a difference in results between the boards. Also I've seen compatibility issues with m.2 SSDs, will this SSD affect any other components in the build?. Anyway Im pretty new to the overclocking scene and self building scene so any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Get a Hero over the z270E , the HERO has SONAR 3, which allows you to use multiple audio outputs at once, you can use your headphones, speakers and hdmi for audio all at the same time.

& as for the network, has network routing, you can also combine multiple networks into one (neighbor's wifi + your LAN ) for max speed. Very neat that HERO board.

HERO would have been my pick out of those two but I went with the CODE due to ARMOR + wifi + Btooth

Get the asus ix maximus hero if you going to overclock. It has plethora of overclocking options.
Ssd won't affect other component's performance. M.2 are faster than ssd, so your file read/write speed will differ.
