My laptop is Asus X555L,
i3 5010u @ 2.1GHz
4GB RAM
I want to upgrade my HDD to a SSD. Will I able to gain any performance with this processor or will keep my HDD?

One of the biggest changes to my gaming over the past several years was when I switched from HDD to SSD. The load times are so amazing, just be careful if this is your first SSD drive. You WONT be able to go back to HDD afterwords. :)

Possibly. If you are moving from a 5400RPM or a 7200RPM to an SSD you will see a slight performance gain. Navigating WIndows should be quicker. Any games on that SSD will have reduced to non-existent load times. If you do any editing, rendering/CAD work your jobs will take less time. The first upgrade I would make is a RAM upgrade. COMPLETELY replace the RAM in there. Don't mix and match RAM kits. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/x555la shows the memory upgrade path for X555LA. There are a half dozen L models. I'd purchase an 8GB stick.
