Hey all,

I will be building the following PC:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZR2C9W

Just wanted to run it through the smart minds here and make sure there's nothing I've overlooked. I'll be using it for streaming, gaming, and music production. This is well within my budget, so please let me know if you think there's any parts I should consider upgrading.

Its a good build however if you have a bit of room in your budget, while the CXM is a fine PSU, you may want to consider something like the EVGA 550 G2 or G3. They are more efficient and higher quality.

Also that SSD isn't gaining you the benefits of the M.2 slot, it runs the same as a SATA drive. You want something like the Samsung 960EVO which is usually around $130-$150

I am no expert on ryzen.

1. Ryzen is dual channel only.
I think you would be better off with a 2 x16gb ram kit.

2. The motherboard supports m.2 pcie x4 nvme devices. Look into Samsung 960 pro or 950 pro for the fastest devices.

3. WD is considered as more reliable than Seagate.

WD red might be good.

4. 500w is fine for a GTX1070.
But, buy a tier 1 or 2 unit from a list like this:

Seasonic is always good, here is a S12II tier 2 520w unit for less. the 620w is $5 more.

I love Seasonic but advise against that model, its an old group regulated design, and doesn't support all sleep states. Look for the G series instead. Still well priced and far newer (and better efficiency).

Very powerful build both performance as well as quality wise.
You can add extra 16GB RAM in future as per your requirement.
Storage can also be expanded as per your requirement.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts! This is great feedback.

Awesome ideas. This is still well within my budget so I can easily just get the 16GB and storage with this without going over.

Thanks!

I wouldn't necessarily say I have an exact budget. I just think that the value has to be there if we're going to improve it further. What improvements would you propose?

Depending on how far you can push the budget. You can improve the looks or performance for similar kind of price.

For improving performance add in EK AIO that is gonna launch in 1-2 months for crazy clock speeds(there are good chances to hit 4GHz+ with that cooler) that improves performance by a lot.

For improving looks I would recommend RGB themed build.

If you plan on gaming at 4K or 1440p then I would recommend going with ASUS X370 board as adding in second card in future will improve the gaming performance. Especially if you plan on gaming at 4K I would recommend going for 1080Ti instead of 1080.
If you only plan on gaming on this build I would recommend Intel i7-7700K(best CPU for gaming at present). For any other stuff like streaming, video editing, content creation etc. R7 1700 is recommended.
