Hi, I am currently putting my motherboard together (it's front of me) and I can't fit this goddamn cooler.
No matter how I try to stretch it, it won't fit.

I don't know what else to say, manual tells me nothing about this. I got a stock cooler but i'd rather save myself the trouble of applying the termal paste again tomorrow, so hopefully you can help me out.

Sorry if I got the wrong thread.

Take a look at the instructions online, they show what I am talking about. http://www.coolermaster.com/xresserver01-DLFILE-P1302180416de94-F13082600809a6e.html
On each leg there are several different slots you can position the posts. You just need to move them to which ever one matches up with the socket type you have. Moving between these slots can be a little bit of a pain but it's not impossible, the instructions should show you how to do it.

Instruction doesn't say anything about moving them, but I'm gonna try anyways.
Btw here it is the other direction.

Can you pls let me know how it is worst? if you could share me the reason I will correct myself

So far my opinion is, tying is the better solution, if any cooler is incompatible or screws/sockets damaged in cooler, instead of throwing the cooler

OP said he could not fit the cooler, so, I thought dimensions (mobo+heatsink) mismatch, so, what else could be the solution if you cannot fix with screws? to fix the cooler, my understanding is, whatever the approach we go, main goal would be it has to firmly touch the entire surface of the CPU

First, it does fit. User was just having issues mounting it, which is not unknown with that cooler.

Second, cable ties won't provide a solid enough connection, in a place where that is absolutely critical.

Lastly...if the CPU cooler actually does not fit, due to being incompatible with the particular socket, you send it back and get one that does mount correctly.
There are many things inside a PC where you can wing it with cable ties. The CPU cooler is not one of those.
