Do you think my graphics card is at its limits?

I have a gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb and I think I am getting low scores on benchmarks. Valley benchmark 5300. I wanted to know if getting a 1070 would improve things. other parts in build are i5 6600k overclocked to 4.5ghz corsair rm750i power supply. I think my cpu is powerful enough to run a 1070 properly. I also don't think that my cpu is being bottlenecked.

  1. not according to tomshardware gpu hierarchy. you need 1080 or 1080ti not make your upgrade worthwhile.
  2. Are you having problems with your games or are you just trying to get the highest score possible in a benchmark? A 1070 would definitely be an improvement over your 1060 but so is a 1080 and a 1080 Ti. Only you can decide whether the cost of upgrading is justifiable.

I personally would have a hard time upgrading so quickly after buying the 1060. I want my GPUs to last at least a couple years. Plenty of other people get the upgrade itch and want something new every year though.

I have been having issues with it since I bought it and I have already had one replacement and the one I got back is worse. It runs hotter and the coil whine is really annoying.
