Install a second HDD and make it default and erase OS from old one

Hello, i just ordered a new HDD and i want this one to replace the old HDD as the default one, but i dont really know how to do that, do i have to boot from my old HDD and then install windows on it? i have no idea.

Also, i would like to erase the OS from the old HDD (to make room)

Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated.

  1. No you need the windows dvd or flash drive to reinstall windows

If you want to use the old hdd you can connect it after you reinstall windows. Then quick format it

You should unplug other hdds if you install on another one. Otherwise the bootloader can get installed to it during the windows install

And if you remove it after, your system may not boot. Thats why you should unplug extra hdds before you install on another hdd
