Hi guys! I made a post earlier about some cooling problems and what would be the best card, but i've decided to just upgrade my cooling, so now the thing I'm unsure about is what card is the better card? Of course the TI is newer, but the fancy "better than the X" specs on the TI sounds a bit fishy to me, what do you think? thanks!

Gtx 1080 Ti is better than titan X pascal. Check out the various benchmarks and comparison reviews of the card. Just google it and you will find many sites. But it is faster than titan and gtx 1080 at 4K resolution. No one will buy it for 1080p n 1440p. The card is capable of producing 60 fps at ultra in 4K resolution. So it isnt fishy if they are saying that it is better than titan.

If one has a 144Hz monitor with 1440p resolution why would it be a bad option to go with the 1080 Ti? The increased framerate at 1440p will be beneficial to the higher refresh rate no?

1080Ti still isn't enough to drive max setting @4K in the most demanding games like Deus Ex: MD, Watchdogs 2, TW: Warhammer, or Wildlands it is a long or very, very long way from 60FPS @4K. And in games like that it is closer to 70-80 FPS @1440p so you aren't going to be taking full advantage of a 1440p 144Hz monitor without some compromising. Generally a reference clocked Titan XP will lose slightly.

I'd wish people would hold their imaginary horses, 1080Ti is a really great card for 1440p, but not so much for 4K.

"UMAD?" some might say, but look at benches - the thing barely manages 60FPS in many titles at 4K and even lower at some and games ain't gonna be less demanding.

1440p is where it's real power is and future-proofing too.
