Hello, first of all, sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, this post has multiple topics and questions I need to ask.
I use my computer for Gaming, some Rendering, Overclocking, and Browsing. I am looking into upgrading my computer. I'm looking for more performance in games, trying to get more of an overclock, and a little faster render time. I don't know if it would be better to upgrade my Cpu, Motherboard, or Both. I'm looking into the Intel i7 7700k for a CPU (I'm not interested in AMD Ryzen), and I want to overclock it. But I think I need to upgrade my motherboard if I want the new CPU. I'm not sure what Motherboard would be best for the CPU, I did search the internet to try to find an answer, but all the answers are $250 motherboards. I don't completely understand the Socket Support so I don't want to go chose something I'm not completely sure of. I'm looking for a Motherboard that can overclock, and can support an Intel i7 7700k for around $130-$190USD. Also, should I only upgrade my Motherboard and just overclock my CPU?
Specs:
CPU: AMD FX8320 @ 4.1GHZ w/ Stock Voltage
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT
GPU: MSI GTX 1060 +100 GPU Clock +650 Memory Clock
PSU: Corsair CX750M

If you need anything please just comment and I'll post it.

You will need the board, CPU and DDR4 memory.
The motherboard and CPU socket type must match like LGA 1151 socket board must use a CPU that is 1151 socket.
You can use this site for basic compatibility check.

I was looking at all of those, turns out what I thought about CPU Sockets was right, I just didn't want to take the extra time and waste money I didn't have to waste because I thought something was right. The money isn't a problem, it's that saving up to get a new car to me is more important. Good job man, I'll just wait for other responses and for people to answer the other part of the question. Thanks for the fast response!

Are you saying I should upgrade just my CPU? Or my CPU and Motherboard?

I have everything with LED's since my PC is basically on display in my room so everyone who is in it can see it, the LED's don't mean much, just any color accents would be nice, but not essential. I have LED Strips already on any everything is fine LED wise, don't wanna drop the extra money for more color.
