My ram base clock is 2400mhz 1x8 8gb corsair vegeance i want to run it on near 2666 cuz its said that its support overclocking. My XMP In bios are on and ram is running on 2400mhz i have chaged nothing please do help me. Specs- Ryzen 1700 , 1x8 8gb ddr4, Corsair 650w, Mobo msi b350 tomhawk, gpu 750ti , 1tb Wd.

It won't damage anything. If you try to overclock to 2600 MHz and it isn't stable, your PC will either fail to post, or get blue screens in Windows. If that's the case, you can either try increasing the voltage (although I don't know if I'd recommend this if you don't know what you're doing), or revert the frequency back to what it was. If it seems stable, then you can try running a utility like Memtest to ensure that it really is stable.

It means you may be able to overclock your RAM. Overclocking is never guaranteed. Just because your motherboard is capable of overclocking doesn't mean you'll be able to. It will depend on your particular RAM as well as the memory controller in the CPU. Also, given how new the AM4 platform is, you may see better results with future BIOS revisions.

Thanks . In past one month I already got three bios update maybe I should try to overclock now if it will work ? I just want to know that if bios didn't support 2600oc then my ram will damage ? But I know there is option for 2600mhz . Hope it works .

I've clocked my Corsair LPX DDR4 2400 to 2666 same tight timings as original 14-16-16-16-31-1T passing all memory tests at stock volts on ram.

Also on Ryzen pc

Ryzen 7 1700x @3.9ghz 1.35volts
MSI B350 Mortar Arctic
MSI GTX 1080 Armor OC
2x 8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 @2667 1.2volts

Your mileage may vary. But 9 of 10 of us on this platform have had good success getting some good overclocks on ram as well.
I am aiming for ddr4 3000 while having to loosen up timings to 17-18-18-18-36-2T but currently can't get it stable no matter what volts I pump into the ram.

I also have Corsair LPX DDR4 2400 CL 14 1.2V and it overclocks to 3200MHz CL16 1.35V

I have Intel Z270 system though.

See CPU-Z results in my sig:
Total Size 16384 MB
Type Dual Channel (128 bit) DDR4-SDRAM
Frequency 1600.5 MHz - Ratio 1:24
Timings 16-18-18-39-2 (tCAS-tRC-tRP-tRAS-tCR)
Slot #1 Module Corsair 8192 MB (DDR4-2137) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: CMK8GX4M1A2400C14
Slot #2 Module Corsair 8192 MB (DDR4-2137) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: CMK8GX4M1A2400C14

Personally using this ram I can hit 2666 without any changes and have gone so far up to 2800 at 16-17-16-39 and stayed stable with no voltage increase. I had to reset CMOS once when I pushed for 2933 but I think that was the point where it wanted a slight voltage increase and the timings needed to loosen a jump more. Think i tried something like 18-18-18-42.

How do you did that?

My X299 is not even post with this Settings.

Anyone else with experience to Overclock this Ram to 3000/3200 MHz ???

if your base RAM speed is 2400MHz, then u wont get it to 3000MHz, simple. Also, why do you need 3000MHz. A 2400MHz CL13 will smash a CL15 3200MHz. Just stick with 2660MHz, and use DRAM timings like this. CL 13, 16, 15, 15, and 35 in that order. It there is another one at the start, set it to AUTO and turn off XMP. RAM speed doesn't really effect anything because there is a certain point where the CPU wont be able to read the information as fast as the RAM can send it. so 2400MHz with a low CL is a way better choice and is cheaper.
