Hi Guys.

I want to ask. I have 2x4GB DDR3 Corsair. before I upgrade the system with the SSD, memory was detected in bios dual channel. after I check the SSD upgrade bios, why memory is only detected one slot. So bios 4gb detected only. I've tried to move memory to each slot. all of the memory installed in slot A is detected properly. if my memory plug in slot B is not detected.

The specs:
Processor: Intel Core i5 3470
MB: Gigabyte H61M-DS2
Memory: Corsair 2x4GB
VGA: GTX 960
SSD: 240GB Kingston UV400
HDD: 1TB WDC
PSU: 500W Englight

What may be a faulty memory slot B? please please. thank you

Have you reseated your RAM? It's possible you simply knocked it a little when installing the SSD or SATA cable, and it's not fully seated in the socket.

If you've tried that, try the RAM from slot 2 (not detected) in slot 1 (suspected working).
If it shows up, then at least your RAM module is fine. If it doesn't you may be dealing with a defective module, not a defective slot.

But the modules work individually in slot A? Then it's either a failed DIMM slot, or a bent CPU pin (which happens to be a pin for the memory controller).

Bent pins don't happen randomly though, so unless you reseated your CPU while you were inside your rig installing the SSD (unlikely), then the DIMM slot may simply have failed.
