I tried turning off Superfetch, Windows search and other stuff but its not improving the hard drive. its still at 100% and its very slow it takes 5 seconds to open chrome and 40 seconds to completely open windows 10. my hard drive is 320GB Toshiba hard drive from my old laptop everything else on my PC is new. im defragmenting my hard drive right now using AVG Drive Defrag but its taking too long it will properly finish in 5 hours i dont know if that will fix my hard drive but im trying it anyways

Look at the picture - http://prnt.sc/empp52

AVG defrag is crap. Auslogics Disk Defrag is where the performance is at. Say no when it asks you to bundle Auslogics Speed Boost or whatever it's called.

@dark_lord69, Windows 10 will notify the user and start an automatic disk scan next restart if it notices an issue. chkdsk is no longer really a valid first step, although it's good to see that you know the proper syntax on how to enter the command.

Wow you have a lot of stuff on there. Why so many AVG programs? All you need is the antivirus, get rid of the other stuff clogging up your storage.

seee what iuse to clean system first ccleaner then glary utilities to remove what left from ccleaner in the same time check for the auto update in start up you dont need and disable them after use malwarebytes then the plain agv virus software without all the bloatware included after use defragler for the defrag there is also a option in glary to defrag hdd use all the frre ones .

Did you re-install Windows clean on the system? What model is the hard drive? Many laptop drives are slower 5400 RPM drives made for low noise/heat/power use. If you want to speed up the system, replace the drive with an SSD.
