Gtx 1070 or RX480 CF on freesync monitor.

Hi, I have freesync monitor since last year with my r9 380. Right now I planning to re-build my new machine with i7 7700k or i5 7600k (still deciding). I have fx 6300 with r9 380 on my last machine, and I sold it a few days ago.

Right now I want to go with Nvidia, I just want to feel something different with Gtx 1070, the 1080 is overpriced in Indonesia btw. But, I already have samsung 27" freesync monitor, and I wonder if changing to NVidia will make my freesync become useless.

So should I go with 1070 or try some Rx 480 with crossfire, which I never tried before. Or waiting for Vega? But I dont know when Vega will be released. So this two GPU configuration will be my best choice. Hope you can help me.

Unless he plans to get a Gsync monitor, there is nothing to gain from buying a non-freesync monitor. The 1070 will give more FPS, crossfire can be problematic, as lately, more and more games don't support it (a lot of Vulkan and DX12 games).

I don't really know the best option. I do find that if your monitor is 120hz that tearing becomes almost unnoticeable, and would be good for the GTX 1070.

What is the resolution and refresh rate of that monitor of yours?

Freesync won't work with Nvidia.
The 1070 is better than the 480 and crossfire can be a PITA.
What are the prices of everything there? Could you get a 1070 + monitor for less than the dual 480's?

If your monitor is over 60 hz it will still work very well with a 1070.

Crossfire sucks. I used it, its not worth it. Not every game supports it, you get microstutter, even when it does work it requires tweaking. The 1070 will perform better in every way.
