I have installed both NZXT CAM and Core Temp. Core Temp says that my temperature is at 59 dergrees C. NZXT CAM says that I am running at over 100 degrees C. WTF! Which one do I watch?
Open the case, ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface and touch your heatsink, if it is really over 100C you will not be able to touch it as it will be too hot. Also at that high of a temp your pc would likely be seriously throttling or powering off due to overheating.
you did overclock your system and if this temp is under idle you must be still under the oem cooler so it could not cool cpu enough so that made the board to run on high temp also .
I've noticed that CAM only works well with NZXT gear. Everyone I know that doesn't have a NZXT cooler gets incorrect readings too. I have a NZXT Kraken X61 and it gives me proper temperatures. My motherboard also has a little LED portion on the bottom that says my CPU temp, so I know it is correct.
