My internal 960m gpu seems to have died on my Lenovo Y70 so instead of paying Lenovo to fix it I'm hoping to just build an external gpu with Razer core or the Alienware amplifier since I'll most likely be upgrading to a desktop once I'm out of my brothers tiny home. So would like to keep using laptop since I don't have the room for a desktop yet.

I have a Lenovo 80DU
Intel HD 4600 is the only working gpu
I7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60Hz (8 CPUs)
8GB Ram

Only really looking to play WoW and Overwatch on medium to high so if I can support a 750 ti or 960 ti would be great but I have no idea what I can use.

Solution
You can't add either one of those devices to your laptop, you need a thunderbolt port and a compatible laptop.
You can use a mini pci adapter but it's limited to PCIe x1 speeds and will be hanging out of the laptop, as well as needing a power supply for the video card sitting on the desk.
