Spcs:
1. Intel Core i7-7700T 2.9GHz Quad-Core Processor
2. ASRock Z170 Pro4S ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
3. Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
4. Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Windforce OC Video Card
5. EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Alright so I got all this new stuff and I of course immediately started putting it together. Once I finished I checked all the wires again and made sure all of the stuff was seated properly. However when I turned it on the computer refused to boot and would turn off after about 5 seconds. After which it would restart without any beeps. So I decided to mess with it a bit and see if I could figure out what the problem was. I tried it with the video card and without, I tried with the hard drive and without, then with 2 sticks of ram and one in every single position, the only difference I got after all of this was 3 beeps when I took all of the ram out. I'm going to assume for now that the computer is telling me "put some freakin ram in you moron" (I also looked in the manual and it told me for 8GB sticks they needed to be in slots A1 and A2) Any help would be appreciated.

Well then.... I just RMA'd the board because I thought it was DOA. So just to be clear I have to buy a different board to get this to work together? Or is there a way to do it without having to buy a new one?

Okay I ordered another board (Z270) and it should hopefully be here tomorrow. You're probably right but I'll let you know tomorrow or the day after. Thanks for the help btw.

Well as it turns out you were right. I went ahead and got the Z270 and reinstalled everything. Flipped it on and I was able to get into BIOS easily and start fiddling with the settings. Anyway I went ahead and tried to get into it completely as in just like starting a fully set up computer. Then I realized I hadn't installed windows 7 yet. So after a while of playing around with this new problem unsuccessfully I believe that the BIOS is seeing the CDROM but not my windows 7 CD. I went ahead and tried it without my hard drive plugged in and then without my M.2 SSD but to no avail. When I boot up and let it run it comes to the black page with Start Windows normally and Start Repair. But when I start normally it goes to blue screen of death and restarts, and when I go to start repair it goes through a few phases then hits "Do you want to restore your computer using System Restore?" However it's at this point that it freezes and will not allow me to do anything but turn the computer off again.

Like I said I have seen Windows 10 and I've used it once or twice and call me old fashioned or whatever but I just feel 10 times more comfortable on Windows 7. Of course I did say that about Windows xp but still. If there's a way to stay on Windows 7 I'd like to find it if at all possible.

Well as it turns out I did some more reading and found that with a system like mine even if I can get past all of the difficulties of installing win7 I end up running into stability issues. I burned win7 onto an ISO file and tried it that way but it ended with an error message that I couldn't get past. In any case I've decided to give up the chase on win7 and I'm going to install win10. Thank you for all the help by the way. Really saved my skin from losing several hundred dollars.
