Basically, I was helping a friend install a new CPU, an X4 845, and the motherboard is an A68HM-E33 V2. We needed to install a fresh BIOS, and did it through Windows, as it said to do on MSI's website. After the BIOS was installed using the old CPU, a Windows Recovery screen up saying that a required device is not connected or can't be accessed, and we should use a recovery media, something like that. So we installed the new CPU, and got the same message. What can we do so it will boot into Windows? Everything seems to be being recognized in the BIOS.

your bios has been reset.

try changing the sata mode from ahci to ide, if that doesn't work, try using ahci instead of ide, if not try raid mode but just single drives not actually using as raid.

the sata mode has changed thus now windows has blue screened on you.

Tried all of those modes, and still got the recovery screen. Thanks anyways for your time.

How would I go about doing this, and is there any risk involved?

there is no risk because you are just resetting the BIOS back to factory settings. you enter the bios by usually pressing the DEL or F2 key when you start the computer. if those keys do not work check the motherboard Manuel for the right one
