Hi guys

My network layout:

5 gadgets

Main Router
A server
Powerline repeater
A small switch (4 gates)
Secondary router serving as access point

My goal: I want to be able to access a shared folder on the server through the wi-fi network created by the access point, each on opposite sides of the house.

Layout details:

On one side of the house, we have:
-The Main Router, which is directly connected to a switch, which in turn is connected to:
-A printer
-Our server
-A powerline signal repeater

On the other side of the house, we have:
-The powerline repeater's receiver, granting us access to the internet with halved DL speed, but can access shared folder on the server
-Another router serving as access point on an attempt to replace the powerline repeater. It's connected by RJ45 to the Main Router, speed is fine, but we can't access shared folder

Things I've tried: Getting the access point LAN settings to be on the same gateway as the Main Router. MR is on 192.168.1.102 and Access Point LAN was on 192.168.0.1 I believe. Messed around with WAN and LAN settings a bit but couldn't get it to work, so I kept the original settings.

Any other details I may add?

Thanks!

Thanks! Let me try it out and I'll come back and set this as solved if I get it to work.

EDIT: Ran into a few bumps but was able to get it to work by skipping the quick setup prompt and connecting the RJ45s to the LAN ports only. DL speed is the same as the repeater, though. While through WAN, DL speed had nearly doubled.

Not really sure what I can do to speed it up but at least I can access the server through the AP now.
