I have no CD drive. I want to purchase 3.5 inch floppy boot disc for XP OS. Any sources known?

Call me stupid but the link you provided does not point to any source for 3.5 inch floppy boot discs. I tried the download that is suppose to write files to blank formatted discs supplied by me but the operation repeatedly fails with an error on disc 3 of what is suppose to be a 6 disc (3.5 inch 1.44MB HD) total.

So, here is my problem: I own and enjoy an old IBM ThinkPad laptop that was running XP OS. I do not connect to the internet with this machine and I therefore do not care about the fact that Microsoft no longer supports XP. The system battery died and when I replaced it the OS disappeared. When I turn the machine on now with the new battery the laptop looks to the A: drive for a boot disc. I'm not familiar with the method of intercepting the start-up sequence but I did attempt to change the settings so that boot drive would be D: but the computer will not recognize the D: drive. Help!

You can plug the hard disk of that laptop on another computer, start installing XP "normal" way, and stop after first reboot (after the copying phase is complete). Move the disk back to the laptop, continue setup.

Microsoft used to provide boot floppies for XP, but they worked when boot from CD was not possiblke
