I recently acquired a i5 4690 but didnt have a mobo for it

So today it came i went home breadborded with cpu heatsink 2 ram sticks and my sdd connected and it was all good got 7.8k on passmark even

So i disconect everything put it inside ny case power it and NOTHING.

No fans no clicks no nothing, so i tought maybe its the switch so i try to power it on with a screwdriver and still nothing.

At this point im mad i take everything out breadboard it like i did it the first time and nothing, did i just kill the mobo?

Its a asrock b85m-dgs

Psu is a rm650 which i did test by jumping it and it still works

The only things i added when it was in the case was a hdd, gigabyte 970, all the case cables

I had all the stand ofs installed i really have no idea whats going on

Could this be the problem?

when rma the board.
never ever admit to physical damage.
when they ask point blank if you have physical damage answer no.
when they tell you your board has physical damage and we can give you rma for 90 percent of the price you paid you say any physical damage is done by them and ask if there were any misunderstanding. ask nicely first. if they refuse, try vehemently. if they still refuse surrender and pay or swear that you won't buy any of their brand anymore (like I did for Asus). and in my case not just motherboards but all of asus products. even if I have pay more for any particular things.

I honestly do not see any problems with the mobo with the pictures posted. Are you referring to some normal wear and tear near the standoff holes? Did a standoff screw didn't want to get off and you kind of twisted and pulled? it shouldn't have an issue. Or at least the issue isn't there.
I want to say take out the ram sticks.
what you should have now:

cpu
cpu heat sink with its fan plugged into cpufan1 pin on mobo.
20+4 power to mobo
4+4 power to cpu
use screw driver to push on power switch pins.

does the cpu fan turn? led warning lights turn on? (specifically near the empty memory slots?)

What i dont understand is how can the pc work outside the case then not work inside and taking it out still doesnt help, did my case kill it? Or gpu or hdd thats it nothing else can be the problem

idk, maybe there was still power left in the capacitors after you switched the PSU off and it caused a short when you started disconnecting cables
