I have a mac mini and a windows 10 desktop. For clarity A.= win10 desktop and B.=Mac Mini

A couple of months ago everything worked fine. A. is in my bedroom connected by ethernet cord to router. I had hardware problems with A. so it was out of commission for several weeks. Yesterday I "fixed" it, well maybe. I booted A. but could not connect to the Internet. After running diagnostics it said "*ethernet* doesn't have a valid ip configuration" or something like that. I've tried typing commands in command center, restarting, did not work. Meanwhile on B. a message displayed "your wireless internet is being compromised.... turned off for 1 minute."

By turning on A. the wifi went out in my house, couldn't use B. or my phone or Xbox Live. Called my Internet company and router companies, my modem is fine they said, the router is out of warranty (out of date too to be honest) so they can't help me without buying a new one. Just 2 months ago both systems with running smoothly so I cannot imagine my router or modem are broken.

Can someone tell me what is going on?! And any solution to this problem. I am a first time user of this forum, I will try to check responses, hopefully they get sent to my email too. I am not a great computer guy so I need your patience and for you to speak in simplest terms.

I typed winsock reset and ip reset, the tips found here: http://troubleshooter.xyz/fix-ethernet-doesnt-have-a-valid-ip-configuration/ and other websites.
