My laptop won't install

Hi all.. so I purchased a windows 7 home premium.. for my Sony vaio vgn-cs320d and it does nothing I can hear it load in the cd tray I've tried everything.. nothing works plz help

Is your disk drive set to be your boot priority #1? or are you using the override feature?

If your HDD is set to #1 and the disk drive is #2, it's still going to boot from the HDD like normal.

Either ensure the disk drive is #1 in the BIOS (so it boots from there first), or use the override to change it as a one-off.

I have even bought it online and tried to download it straight away and it only goes to 6percent and than times out ...

Try hitting F11 as the system is starting up, it will go through the boot media list and should hit the DVD drive.
