I know a few others have had this problem as well. This is a brand new pc build, except for the dvd drive. My specs. dvd drive is a sony, i forgot to write the model number down before i closed up the case.

CPU
Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor
Thermal Compound
ARCTIC MX4 4g Thermal Paste
Motherboard
Gigabyte GA-B250-HD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage
Sandisk SSD PLUS 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card
XFX Radeon RX 470 4GB HS Triple X Video Card
Case
Deepcool KENDOMEN Red ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply
EVGA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Monitor
ViewSonic VX2457-MHD 23.6" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor

after i first started it. I set all the things that should be set, including dvd drive as boot first, then ssd. I put in windows 10 disk, and i get the Reboot and select proper boot device, or insert boot media and press any key. Well i can't move from this screen. I take the disk out and try getting back into my BIOS by hitting delete, but i can't get back into that either. Ive tried wiggling all the wires, unplugging and plugging back in. The bios worked great the first time, but i can't get back. and i'm positive i saved my settings with dvd as boot drive. Could this be a faulty windows disk? MOBO issue, User error, dvd drive moving but not actually reading? And how do i get back into bios when it doesn't respond as i'm pushing delele?

Any help is appreciated. Hopefully i gave all pertinent info.

I can hear the dvd drive turning, and reading. I pulled it from an old computer i had, which was one of the only things that were stil working when the old computer died. when windows disk is in dvd drive, it runs quiet, i tried putting in the gigabyte MOBO drivers disk, and it's horribly loud. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. Or maybe is there a way to reset my bios settings i did and start over?

ugh i didn't even think to do that. I believe i'm overthinking and didn't do the simplest thing. My laptop isn't reading the disk either. I guess back to the store i go. i'm having a stupid moment apparently. :)

Where did you get this disc?

Does it say Microsoft on the label?

Real Microsoft discs look like this

Fake discs often look like this

I did try all that. i brought it back and got a new one, they agreed that the disk was empty. but now even trying a new disk, and i tried making a boot usb, i'm still stuck. Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. It's not doing anything. everytime i restart i can't get into the BIOS. I'm starting to wonder if it's not reading my keyboard now (wireless, i don't even have a wired). It was working earlier. I have a wired mouse that lights up usually, now it's not. It's making 5 loud beeps on startup, so now i have to figure out what that means. Before it was starting with one beep.

Try reseating your RAM. Also reseat the graphics card.

thank you, I really do appreciate you taking your time trying to help. I couldn't get it running, and started the check list, take out one piece, restart, one by one. didn't work. Finally I took everything out, checked everything, standoffs, everything. I put it all back together and for some reason it worked. I'm not sure what it was, but apparently user error. I checked every plus, screw 3 times, but it's working now. Just time now to add the big storage HDD and do some cable management and I should be rolling. This was my second PC build, first one was 6 years ago, a few more issues this time. :)

Thank you again!
