It is a good CPU for a budget build and it will be able to run those games with playable FPS provided the rest of your system can keep up. What other components are in your PC? How much memory, what GPU, etc?

I would always recommend buying the i3.
The i5-2xxx is an old CPU (not bad)... the i3-6xxx is 4 generations newer, more power efficient etc.

OK, the GTX1060 is a good GPU. You will need a motherboard, memory (RAM), and a CPU. £160 is not enough for the remaining components.

The CPU is only cheaper by about £2 on PartPicker. For that small amount I would get the newer CPU and Motherboard.
However, if you are able to get a good deal with the 6100 then by all means get it.
