So my hard drive just failed and need to get a new one. I've been very curious about PCIe SSD's, but don't have any experience with them. Could someone look at the specs of my mobo (ASUS Gryphon Z97 Armor Edition) and tell me if it's even possible to use a PCIe SSD, and if so how would I go about using it (ie: which lanes I would use). If it helps, my GPU is a 1080. Linked below is the specs page for my mobo. Cheers.

Solution
basically you will need latest BIOS to be able to boot from NVMe SSD.
since this board do not have an M.2 slot, you should get a disk with M.2 to PCIe adapter (toshiba RD400 ships with one) or just purchase the adapter separately.
You can put it in any of the two lower PCIe slots
