i am trying to overclock a core i5-6600k with a msi gtx 1060 6gb i need help on weather to build my system with water or air cooling. i am looking to start my overclock at a steady 4.4 i am also using the msi z170a gaming pro carbon and looking to boost my cpu's performance to player triple a titles like gta 5. thx :pt1cable:

Solution
Not worth to invest money in watercooling for your system, its pretty budget. So be smart and get yourself a good performance/value air cooler.
Suggest Cryorig H5 or Noctua premium coolers. Not only noctua nh d15s perform better than most of aio water coolers but it will be much quieter.

The Noctua D15 cooler will work great for you at those speeds, if you have the room. You could even delid your CPU and drop your temps 15-25C. I would think if you are going to try water cooling your overclocks should be a lot higher than what you are looking for.

I'll make it simple - Good air coolers are cheaper and more reliable while performing about the same as so called "liquid cooler" from corsair, nzxt, tt, arctic and other crap.
unless you have at least 140$ budget for something like Swiftech H220 X2, don't bother with liquid.
You can comfortably play with over 60FPS avg on your mildly (4.2-4.5GHz) overclocked i5.
