I use Headphones , I tried PC Camera microphone but not working too .
as thread title says the rear panel 3.5 mm jack not working , to be specified I have 3 rear panel 3.5 mm jack one for audio / mic / another thing .
the audio and other thing is working fine , the mic panel isn't working .
I still can see the microphone in recording devices tab (windows 8) but the microphone doesn't detect any sound .
I tried using the microphone on another pc and it's working fine.

Any chance to fix it ? if I buy a 3.5mm to usb adapter ,it will work as should or no ?

Motherboard model would be beneficial, not even sure which kind of computer you are talking about. Operating system too, it's not all same thing, too many variations out there.
If it's not fixable, a USB adapter and even USB microphone should work because they bypass internal sound chip(s).
